Blink-182’s cleverly titled fifth studio album, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, released in 2001, continued the band’s mainstream reign and became the first punk rock album to debut in the U.S. at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Within a year it went double platinum in the U.S. and went on to sell 14 million albums globally. All three singles – “The Rock Show,” “First Date” and “Stay Together” were top 10 hits. The record, produced again by Jerry Finn, has been referred to as a concept album chronicling adolescence, with songs dedicated to first dates, fighting authority and teenage parties. Kerrang! ranked it #14 on its list of “The 50 Best Rock Albums of the 2000s.”
