In many ways, Hollow Jan (할로우 잰) stands apart from Korea's music scene. Hollow Jan is arguably one of the two only screamo bands in Korea (the other being 49 Morphines). 

As such, they do not simply stand apart from the mainstream; they stand very far away from the prevailing Korean indie scene as well. Yet Hollow Jan presses on, playing their own style of music for more than a decade.

Hollow Jan has six members, - Hwan-taek, Kim Seong-chool, Seo Han-pil, Jeong Dong-jin, Lee Gwang-jae and Ryu Myeong-hun. Formed in 2003, it’s difficult to accurately describe the band’s music from their 2006 full-length - Rough Draft In Progress. 

It has tones of shoegaze and post-rock in the breakdown verses, taking time to present melodic tones of the vocals and instrumentals. An amazing band to both witness and listen to, this album is a must listen for fans of the genre.
